Classic Mac and Cheese

Macaroni and Cheese is like a comfort food for the Italians. Every household cooks it and is enjoyed by all n not just one generation.

Tips

Any meat or vegetable can be added of your choice.

It can be crusted with a crumb crust- bread crumbs, seasoning, salt, chopped parsley/coriander leaves. Covering it and baking it, helps you give another texture to the classic dish.

It's such a versatile dish that it can be tuned and tweaked as per your choice.




Ingredients


  • 2 cups macaroni pasta

  • 2 tbsp refined oil

  • 4 tbsp butter

  • 3 ½ tbsp refined flour

  • 400 ml milk

  • Salt to taste

  • Pepper to taste

  • Water to blanch pasta

  • ¾ cup grated mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup process cheese

  • Italian seasoning

Preparation

  1. In a pan get water ready to blanch pasta with salt and oil, add pasta to it once it's boiling, add macaroni and boil for 7 mins on a timer.

  2. Alongside in another double bottom pan melt butter and add flour, saute it to cook well until it releases its aroma.

  3. Add milk (but be careful because it splatters), and cook it well. It will start thickening.

  4. Add the pasta to the base and adjust seasoning and coat it well. Just before your mac tells you to turn the flame off, add both the grated cheese and italian seasoning ,mix it well and serve hot.
